"The sound and music are 50% of the entertainment in the movie."
George lucas
Through my DTVM course in Singapore Polytechnic, I have experience working in all stages of production. Through the three main stages, it is definitely no less than fulfilling to witness a dream put together bit by bit. The greatest lesson I learned is to trust in the collaborative process among an inspired collective to craft the perfect film. It takes a collective vision to weave a captivating tapestry, not just a singular thread of one person.
Sound to me is one of the most important aspects of filmmaking. Soundtracks, sound design, even capturing the slightest sigh from an actor expressing different tones of dialogue are all integral to the immersion of the audience into the plot and story.
Pursuing a BA in Performance Making at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts has enriched my understanding of storytelling through a different medium. The sole pursuit of showcasing my 'truth' on stage has pushed me beyond the limitations of traditional narratives, allowing me to explore the complexities of human experience in a more visceral and impactful way.
